North Slope Borough School District Standards

Under this program, each school will be required to do a number of things aimed at improving the education that our children receive. Schools must adopt state mandated academic standards in reading, writing and math.

The North Slope Borough School District has gone far beyond the State’s requirement and developed standards in all areas. All of our classes are driven by our standard based curriculum. This lets the students, parents and teachers know precisely what they are expected to learn in each class and strengthens the home/school partnership by keeping the parents involved in their child’s educational progress.
