Retrieving your own files from Back Up (On the H, O, T drives)
Retrieving your own files from Back Up (On the H, O, T drives)
Have you ever deleted a file you needed or overwritten a file with the wrong version?
Now you don't have to call Infotech but can fix this yourself in a few simple steps.
Step 1. (Only for Windows 2000 Clients, Windows XP Clients can skip step 1)
Install the Shadow Copy Client (This might require a restart)
Step 2.
Go to the folder that contained the deleted file and right click on it. Select "Properties"
Step 3.
In the window that opens select the Previous Versions Tab

Step 4.
Select to how far you want to go back to retrieve your file and select "View"

Step 5.
A new window will open with the files that where in that folder on the listed time and date.
You can copy these files to your desktop or back to your H,O,T drive like you would do with a regular file copy.

You have now retrieved your own file from Back Up.
*Please note that this will only work for files stored on the NSBSD file servers
