Respect for Nature

Each month, Hopson Middle School is focusing the students¹ attention on the Inupiat values. One of those values is respect for nature. All of the students at HMS went out side with rubber boots and plastic bags and filled them with yucky, sticky, slimy, stinky trash. Our backs ached, we smelled awful things, and we saw way too many gross and dirty pieces of trash out on the tundra. We filled bags full of trash and dead creatures, so our community would be a better place to live. We did our share to clean up the tundra and make it a place where animals that live on the tundra can live
healthier lives.
