Preston Nageak a seventh grader at Nunamiut School in Anaktuvuk Pass wins the NSBSD Spelling Bee held on January 14, 2005.  Around 21 students in grades 3-8 participated in the spelling bee on the district's polycom system.

Preston will be representing the NSBSD at the Anchorage News State Spelling Bee that will be held in Anchorage on February 3^rd and 4^th.  The first place winner at the Alaska State Spelling Bee will participate in the National event that will be held in Washington, D.C.
