This program is regulated through the Alaska Department of Education and Early development.

The school meals are closely scrutinized to insure that the students are receiving highly nutritious foods from each of the five food groups each and every day. Our menus have recently been analyzed by the state regulatory agency to insure that we are feeding our students the proper levels of nutrients to enhance the children's performance, behavior, and development.

The North Slope Borough School District Food Service Department is active in it's efforts to serve the students healthy meals, cutting the sugars, salts, and fats as much as possible, while maintaining food products that are enjoyable to the palate.
