District Notices

District and School Report Cards

Each year the State of Alaska, school districts, and individual schools publish a Report Card to the Public that summarizes the performance of each public school and its students. The North Slope Borough School District has prepared report cards for each of the 11 schools in the District, as well as a District Report Card to the Public.

Each report card includes a section addressing the following components: school/district statistics, assessments, accountability requirements, and teacher qualifications. The Report Card to the Public provides information about specific subject areas as well as subgroups.

IT Corner

Paglagivsi,

The staff and administration of the North Slope Borough School District (NSBSD) welcome you to our website, recently rebuilt to meet requirements for equity in access to educational services. We continue to work for our board of education in support of their vision, mission and goals as outlined in the NSBSD Strategic Plan. Our administration’s goal is to be responsive to the needs of our students, keeping safety first and striving for excellence in all that we do. The changes in the website provide a user friendly place where students, teachers, and stakeholders can get up to date information about our schools and the services we provide.

We continue to honor the decades of work that our educational leaders have contributed for our students, and look forward to strengthening our place and culture based curriculum. It is truly a joy to see the love of learning in our classrooms across the district. We all know that when we work together on behalf of our students, we are reaching for the stars as visualized on our district logo. We intend to keep our learning framework front and center and work to strengthen our partnerships with parents, grandparents, community leaders and organizations across the region to keep our schools safe and productive.

I want to thank our amazing staff for all of their hard work as we face challenges head on in a changing world environment.

Sincerely,

Ronnie Stanford
Interim Superintendent
