Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): Completing the FAFSA is the first step towards getting federal aid for college, career school, or graduate school. Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free and quick, and gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school. Arctic Education Foundation (AEF): "The AEF was established in 1977 as a non-profit foundation committed to providing support to eligible students pursuing either a degree or certification. The goal of the Foundation is an educated, trained, Iñupiat professional workforce ready to take on any job, especially those jobs requiring professionals within the North Slope region. The AEF Ivalu Scholarship was created to honor eligible applicants who are making noteworthy and influential contributions to their community through their community cultural service commitment of their personal time to projects and activities which strongly incorporate the Iñupiaq values. The Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS) Program:  "The Alaska Performance Scholarship provides an opportunity for Alaska high school students to earn a scholarship to help cover the cost of an Alaska postsecondary education. Alaska high school students who take a more rigorous curriculum, get good grades, and score well on college placement or work ready exams, can earn an Alaska Performance Scholarship to qualified Alaska colleges, universities, or vocational/technical programs."  For more information about the program open APS Scholarship Information.

The UA Scholars Program:  "The purpose of the UA Scholars Program is to provide an incentive for Alaska's middle and high school students to achieve academic excellence, to nourish efforts of schools to provide high quality education, and to encourage the top high school graduates from every community in Alaska to attend the University of Alaska." The Native Village of Barrow Higher Education Grant Program

Alaska Broadcasters Association Scholarship (2018) The application period for the Alaska Broadcasters Association Linda Simmons Scholarship is now open to all graduating high school seniors. Download Application. Deadline: April 1, 2018

Alaska State Fair Scholarships (2016): The Alaska State Fair invites Alaska high school students to apply for a 2016 Fair scholarship. The Fair will award $4,250 in scholarships to five students this year. Alaska State Fair Scholarship Information.

American Indian Education Fund: The American Indian Education Fund was established to support educational opportunities for American Indian and Alaska Native students. Our vision is strong, self-sufficient American Indian communities. Scholarships are awarded for each school year and are chosen by a national selection committee. Decisions are based on an overall assessment of the application. Download application. Deadline March 1 & April 4.
 
Arctic Education Foundation (AEF), Anaġi Leadership Award: The Anaġi Leadership Award was created to acknowledge the leadership of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation’s former president, Jacob Anaġi Adams. The Anaġi Leadership Award covers tuition, fees, books, room and board, and shall be used for college or training expenses. The application period for the Anaġi Leadership Award is open from January 1-April 15. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be considered. ASNA's Guy Okakok, Sr. Leadership Award: To provide academic scholarship to eligible North Slope tribal members who are interested in post-secondary health care, social services, or health-related certificated programs. Scholarship Information and applicationDeadline (usually) May 1.
 
Associated General Contractors of Alaska (AGC) & Construction Education Foundation (CEF) Scholarship Program (2018): Scholarship Information.  
Access the online application.  Application available February 2018. Deadline (usually) April 1.

ASTAC Scholarship ASTAC annually awards two $1,000 scholarships to two resident senior high school students from our serving territory. The most qualified and deserving applicants will receive the scholarships with a restriction that only one scholarship can be available to a Barrow student and enable all of the remaining students on the North Slope to be awarded at least one of the available scholarships. Application not yet available.  Deadline usually in April.

Barrow Utilities and Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BUECI) has two (2) $1,000 scholarships available! Application not yet available. Deadline usually in April.

Better Business Bureau Foundation: BBB Student of Integrity Scholarships. Application not yet available.

Buick Achievers Scholarship ProgramInformation and application will be available in January. Deadline usually end of February.

Denali Federal Credit Union Scholarship Program2016: Eligibility requirements: Must be a primary member on an account at Denali Federal Credit Union; 2016 graduating senior, GPA of 2.25 or above). Two $5,000 scholarships are awarded. Information and application will be posted winter 2017/18.  

Indian Health Services Scholarship: The Indian Health Service (IHS) offers three scholarships for American Indian and Alaska Native students in order to train health professionals to staff Indian health programs. Scholarship Information 2018 Application not yet available. Deadline usually end of March.
 
June Nelson Memorial Scholarship (2017)

The Association of Alaska School Boards is proud to announce its 26th Annual Scholarship Award Competition. The June Nelson Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of the late June Nelson, longtime school board member from Kotzebue. This 2016-2017 school year, AASB will award ten graduating seniors each with a $1,200 scholarship to apply toward their post-secondary education. The scholarship may be applied toward the student’s choice of a business, trade, or a college institution. Download an application packet. 2018 Application not yet available. The Hilcorp Future Leaders of America Scholarship - Apply Online 2018 Application not yet available. 
This program will award up to two scholarships in the total amount of up to $10,000, to be paid up to $2,500 per academic year, to one or two college-bound students who have enrolled (or will enroll) in a full-time program at an accredited four-year college or university for Fall 2017 from one or two of the following schools: Alak School; Barrow High School; Harold Kaveolook School; Kali School; Kiita Learning Community; Mt. Edgecumbe High School (only open to North Slope Borough residents); Meade River School; Nuiqsut Trapper School; Nunamiut School; and/or Tikigaq School.
Eligibility Criteria:
Child dependent of a full-time Hilcorp employee, excluding senior level managers and senior professional levels and above, with a minimum of 1 year of employment service with Hilcorp Energy Company or one of its affiliates, Hilcorp Alaska LLC, Harvest Pipeline Company or Hilcorp Ventures Inc.
Graduating high school senior
Minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for initial application; 2.5 for renewal
Must attend a university or community college in the United States
 
Virtual Business Scholarship: Application not yet available. 
Knowledge Matters, the maker of Virtual Business simulations, is pleased to announce the annual Virtual Business Scholarship for high school business, marketing and personal finance students currently enrolled in their junior and senior years of high school throughout the United States. This scholarship is intended to help eligible applicants defray the costs of their continuing education. The scholarship applications will be judged nationally and the winner will receive $2,000.
