Career and Technical Education

The North Slope Borough School District provides career and technical education through the Carl Perkins grant. In partnership with community organizations and Iisa?vik College, the district strives to meet the goals outlined in the Tumitchiat Initiative. The Iñupiaq word "Tumitchiat" means "New Footprints", and sets the purpose and vision to provide our students with a purpose for schooling, and to reinstate the forward thinking nature of our Iñupiat ancestry. We invite you to join us in this exciting journey. High school students and parents are encouraged to work closely with teachers, school counselors and site administrators to develop goals for careers and higher education after graduation.
