The North Slope Borough School District’s Grants Office manages a diverse portfolio of federal, state, local, and private foundation grants. These funds advance the district’s mission to promote academic excellence and culturally responsive education across all schools.
Each grant is aligned with School Board goals and the District’s Strategic Plan, supporting equitable opportunities for students through innovative programs and supplemental services. Major initiatives include Title I, Migrant Education, Indian Education, and Johnson O’Malley (JOM), along with several specialized projects administered through other departments such as Bilingual/Multicultural Education, Business, and Maintenance & Operations.
The Federal Programs Parent Advisory Committee (FPPAC) plays an essential role in reviewing programs and maintaining strong collaboration between the community, Community School Advisory Councils (CSACs), and the School Board. Collectively, these efforts ensure that every dollar invested through grants strengthens teaching, learning, and student success across the North Slope.
